How it works

Play back-to-back with any DJ on earth. In real time.

Two DJs or four, in different cities, one set. Everyone plays their own records, and every computer in the room plays the whole set together, on one clock. Nothing is streamed. Nothing waits for the internet.

How it works

B2B Studio doesn't stream a mix. Every computer in the room plays the whole set itself — your records and your partners' — on one clock.

Load a record and it is in every booth before you press play. Move a fader, hit a cue, drop a loop, and it happens for everyone at once.

What your partner hears is exactly what you hear, in perfect quality. Distance changes nothing.

  • Nothing you hear is a stream.Every record plays from your own computer.
  • Nothing you hear is late.Every cue, loop and fader move lands for everyone at once.
  • Nothing you hear is a phone call.Your partners' records come through the same mixer as your own, in perfect quality.

What it's like to play

You open a room

Your partners join from anywhere. The host seats the DJs — up to four, on two or four decks. Everyone else listens.

You all load your own records

Plug in your USB or open your library. Everyone does the same. A record is in every booth before it plays and is never saved there.

You mix like you're in the same booth

Press SYNC and the records lock together on every computer at once. Hot cues, loops, beat jumps and effects land on the beat for everyone.

The crowd watches live

A public room has a live page for phones: the desk itself, drawn live in time with the music, the DJs' voices and cameras, and one chat.

The same gear as the club. Every knob.

Every unit is an emulation of a specific piece of flagship hardware. Every knob, fader and curve behaves like the real one.

GUIDE explains every control on hover; the i on every unit links to where the real one is sold.

Four decks. Up to four DJs in one room, the pedals on the mixer's send loops.

Every record played has a buy link.

When a released record plays, the booth searches the web by itself and puts a BUY TRACK key next to the track — for the DJs and for the crowd alike. Nobody has to ask for the ID.

  • The download.Beatport, Bandcamp, Apple Music.
  • The vinyl.Discogs, Juno Records, Hard Wax, deejay.de.
  • A listen.YouTube, Deezer.

A link is offered only when it is certainly the right record. Every unit's i links to where the real hardware is sold the same way.

USB & rekordbox library compatible

Plug in your rekordbox USB. The booth reads it like a player: playlists, tag list, hot cues, memory cues, beat grids, colours and keys. rekordbox XML or a folder of files works the same way.

Unanalysed tracks are analysed on load: tempo, beat grid, key, waveform. MP3, AAC, WAV, AIFF, FLAC and OGG. Nothing is uploaded.

Studio-quality sound, made on your machine.

Your machine makes the sound

Every record in the room is decoded and mixed on your own computer, in 32-bit floating point, at your interface's sample rate. Your partners' records reach you in perfect quality.

Latency is chosen for your rig

The audio buffer is set for your machine, 6 to 32 milliseconds, every time you start. A tight rig runs tight; a laptop that drops gets headroom.

Cue in your headphones

Cue to a second output or interface, master to the mains. The room never hears your cue.

Record the set

The master mix to WAV or MP3 on your disk as you play. The cue stays out of it.

Talk to your partner. Show your face.

Push to talk

Hold TALK and speak. Noise and echo handled. If your set is loud, your own speakers dip while you hold the key; nobody else's audio changes.

Cameras on the platter

Your face on the jog wheel, or floating where you drag it. In a public room the crowd sees it too.

Any controller

Press MIDI, click a control on the screen, move the knob on your hardware. Mappings are saved and carry between browser and desktop app.

Where it runs

Any browser on a Mac or Windows machine. USB drives open in Chrome and in the app; the rekordbox library is app only. Desktop apps for Mac and Windows with an offline mode. Phones open the crowd page, iPhone and Android, no app needed.

Your music never leaves your machine

  • Your files stay yours.Read from your disk, sent only to your room. Never stored by us.
  • Your library stays yours.Read in the browser, kept there. We never see it.
  • The room disappears when it ends.In memory while you play, gone when the last person leaves. Never written down.

The privacy policy says the same thing in full.

Built for the studio. Not a substitute for the club.

B2B Studio is a practice and training tool: for learning to mix, rehearsing, studying how equipment behaves, and playing back to back with friends from home. It is not professional equipment and is not a substitute for it. It is not built, tested or sold for live performance in a venue, or for any situation where a failure matters. Real decks exist for that, and nothing here replaces them.

Every unit is an emulation of real hardware, says so on its own info card, and links to where the real thing is sold. The terms say the same thing in full.

Questions DJs ask

Is the sound streamed from my partner's computer?

No. Your own computer plays every record in the room, in perfect quality, on the room's clock. What your partner hears is exactly what you hear.

How tight is the sync between cities?

Tighter than the ear can tell. One clock, SYNC on every machine at once, every cue, loop and effect on the same beat for everyone. Distance changes nothing.

Can I use my rekordbox USB?

Yes. Playlists, tag list, hot cues, memory cues, grids, colours and keys. XML and folders too. Nothing is uploaded.

What audio formats can I play?

MP3, AAC / M4A, WAV, AIFF, FLAC and OGG. Decoded and mixed on your own machine, in 32-bit floating point, at your interface's sample rate.

Does it work with my controller?

Any MIDI controller. Press MIDI, click a control, move the knob.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Any browser on a computer is enough. USB drives open in Chrome and in the app; the desktop apps for Mac and Windows add an offline mode and read the rekordbox library.

Can I buy the records I hear?

Yes. When a released record plays, the booth finds it on the web and puts a BUY TRACK key next to the track, for the DJs and the crowd alike: Beatport, Bandcamp, Apple Music, vinyl on Discogs and more.

Can people watch the set?

Yes. A public room has a live page any phone can open: the desk drawn live in time with the music, the DJs' voices and cameras, one chat.

Is this meant to replace club hardware?

No. It is a practice and training tool for the studio and for playing with friends from home, not professional equipment and not a substitute for it. Real decks exist for the club, and nothing here replaces them.

Any DJ. Any city. One set.
